I was letting people know that in fact you do not need Adobe or Aperture to use Nik filters as a standalone - you only need a program to open them - like FastStone. FastStone is free but if you like it please make a donation. I tried adding Nik collection and couldn't but I could add each application - Silver FX, Colour FX, Viveza etc - separately and that works fine since each app has it's own interface. Someone asked on another forum about using Nik filters with other than the usual apps to which it is attached.įor years I've used the free FastStone viewer to view and open my my images into LR, PS, NX2 etc using the r click option of "Edit with external program".
